It is common for the same person to apply to your job openings multiple times. It is good that they are so eager to work for your organization, but you need your candidate lists to be clean and streamlined. Skillate AI makes it easy to identify duplicate candidate profiles and mark them as Duplicate.

Below is the detailed diagram of how the Skillate AI helps in de-duplicate candidate resume:

deduplication of candidate resumes

The Skillate AI deduplication process has two rounds.

In round 1, the AI checks for duplicate email and phone numbers. If there is a match in email or phone number, the resume will be marked as a duplicate.

If both criteria on round 1 are unmatched, the AI moves to round 2 of the deduplication process. It begins with the name of the candidate (mandatory step) and provides a weightage for each of the criteria.

Please note that all these criteria checks will be done parallelly, and a weightage will be provided. Based on this, it is decided if the resume is a duplicate or not.

Skillate has Candidate ID and Original Candidate ID. Whenever a candidate's resume is added to Skillate, it will be assigned with a Candidate ID and Original Candidate ID.

Now suppose another candidate’s resume is added to Skillate, and it will be assigned with a Candidate ID.

Upon completing the deduplication process, if the resumes are found to be duplicates - the latter resume will be assigned with the Original Candidate ID of the former.

Scenario:

As a recruiter, you have uploaded a candidate resume to Skillate.
Now, in the system - the Candidate ID and Original Candidate ID will be assigned as 1001.

Suppose you have uploaded another candidate's resume to Skillate. The Candidate ID will be assigned as 1002 (different from the former).

Upon completing the deduplication process, if the resume is found to be a duplicate of the former - the original Candidate ID will be assigned as 1001 and not 1002. If the resume is found to be not a duplicate, the Original Candidate ID will be the same as the Candidate ID.

Note:
Name of the candidate on resume 1 and resume 2 should be the same for Skillate AI to read it as a duplicate entry.

The email added to the system will be automatically converted to lowercase to read it as a duplicate entry by the system.

The phone numbers are stored in String format on Skillate. Two phone numbers will be considered the same, if and only if the digits and the format are the same. For example, +91 000000000 will be considered different from 000000000 by the AI.
