A candidate form in Skillate allows you to configure a form and collect necessary information about a candidate. These can be sent out to the candidates after they have entered the recruitment process. The candidate form can serve the purpose of document collection, gathering personal information, etc.

Candidate form is mobile-responsive!

A candidate form is a part of the Hiring Plan. The candidate forms can be configured for a particular stage in the hiring process. Before configuring a candidate form, please ensure that you have added a new round/stage in the hiring plan at the organization level or at the job level. Learn more about the hiring plan.

Adding custom fields 

Firstly, you will need to define the fields that you require on the candidate form. Follow the below steps to add the custom fields:

 

  1. Navigate to Settings > Custom Fields > Application Fields.

  2. Click on Create New.

  3. In the following pop-up, fill in the fields.

  4. You can choose the type of field from the drop-down menu.

  5. Add a Placeholder. 

  6. You can check on the link to the candidate's field if you wish to view the custom fields from Candidates > Candidate Details Page > About > Custom Fields.

  7. Click on Add.

The custom field will be added to the custom application fields list. These are editable and if required, they can be disabled.


Adding a Candidate Form to Hiring Plan

Once you have defined the custom fields for the Application form. All the fields which are active will be listed, available to use for your candidate form.


Follow the below steps to configure a candidate form to your hiring plan:

 

  1. Navigate to the Settings > Job Setup > Hiring Plan.

  2. Choose a hiring plan, and go to its details.

  3. You can either create a new stage and proceed to configure the form or configure the form for an existing stage.

  4. Create a new round by clicking on +Round

  5. In the following pop-up, choose Form, add a name for the form and click on Add <n> Selection.

  1. Click on +Create New Section.

  2. Add a Section Name and click on Submit.

  3. Add questions to the section by clicking on New Question.

  4. In the following pop-up, select an application field.

  5. The field type will be automatically mapped to the question.

  6. Repeat steps 6 to 10 until you finish adding all the questions for the candidate form.

 

Adding a Candidate Form to a Job Hiring Plan

 

You can also configure a candidate form from a job’s hiring plan. Follow the steps below for the same:

  1. Navigate to a Jobs > About > Hiring Plan. You will be taken to the Hiring Plan Setup page. 

  2. You can either create a new stage and proceed to configure the form or configure the form for an existing stage.

  3. Create a new round by clicking on +Round

  4. In the following pop-up, choose Form, add a name for the form and click on Add <n> Selection.

  5. In the following pop-up, choose Form, add a name for the form and click on Add <n> Selection.

  6. Click on +Create New Section.

  7. Add a Section Name and click on Submit.

  8. Add questions to the section by clicking on New Question.

  9. In the following pop-up, select an application field.

  10. The field type will be automatically mapped to the question.

  11. You can specify dependency criteria by clicking on + Add Dependency. The dependency criteria can be set only with a previously added question.

  12. Repeat steps 6 to 10 until you finish adding all the questions for the candidate form.

 

Sending a Candidate Form

Upon you add a candidate to the respective stage where you have configured the candidate form, you can send the candidate form.


  1. Navigate to the Candidates and select the candidate.

  2. Click on Send Form.

  3. In the following pop-up, fill in the required details, and please ensure that you add the placeholder {{form_link}} in order to add the form to your email.

  4. Click on Submit to send the form.


Viewing a Candidate Form


Candidates can click on the form link provided in the email to access the form. Below is a sample form, how it is viewed as a candidate.



Depending on the number of sections and questions, the form will differ from one job to another.


They can preview their submission before submitting it as well.
